Several step are required to achieved a proper mesh of the skin and the skull. We have developed the necessary tools to obtained a skull surface which is simply connected without holes see Tilotta et al (2009).
Stacking the minimal surfaces leads to a first mesh

From the convex hull, contours are extracted using wrapping curves which follow the differential equation
In between two curves extracted from two sequential slices a minimal surface is computed
Starting from a slice of a CT scan bones and skin contours are extracted by thresholding
The first mesh is regularized using freeYams from by Pascal Frey
